Iran has been rocked by over six weeks of protests following the death of Amini who had been arrested by the notorious morality police in Tehran, with the movement now seen as the biggest challenge to the Islamic republic's leadership since the 1979 revolution. Activists say dozens have been killed and thousands arrested in a crackdown by the security forces who have been accused of firing on protesters at close range, bludgeoning them with batons and other abuses.   Pakistani minister hints at action against Imran Khan convoy By AP News | 10.29.2022 8:01 PM ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistan’s interior minister alleged on Saturday that the country’s former premier, Imran Khan, who is leading an opposition convoy of thousands of supporters toward Islamabad, plans to use his march to spread “violence and chaos.” Speaking to reporters in the Pakistani capital, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, offered as evidence for his claim an audiotape with a discussion — purportedly between Ali Amin Gandapur, a close Khan aide, and an unidentified person — about “arranging weapons and men" near Islamabad. The recording and Sanuallah's claim could not be independently verified. Khan, who is on the road leading his followers toward Islamabad, did not immediately react to the allegations.
